In the ever-improving world, digital data becomes absolutely necessary. As the bridge between analog signal and digital signal, analog to digital converter is very important in circuit design. Foreign corporations occupy the main ADC market. More attention has been paid to ADC research in domestic science institutions, but the study of ADC keeps on very low level. Under this situation, the author studies the ADC technique with high resolution. The circuit designed in this paper can be used in CMOS sensor for medical system.Pipelined ADC has been widely studied nowadays, which is the topic of this paper too. We analysis and introduce the characteristics of ADC, after which we compare the various types of ADC structures about their advantages and disadvantages. In the paper, the author optimizes the stage resolution by investigating its influence on linearity, speed, and power dissipation of converter. The circuit configuration of pipelined ADC is improved and system of 32223 is adopted. This thesis also works on with switch capacitance circuit for it widely used in low power design. Based on discuss of the operational amplifier and comparator, we design the circuit including bandgap voltage reference, MDAC, clock and digital error correction. The chip is designed using SMIC 0.18μm 2P4M mixed-signal CMOS process. The ADC circuit has been simulated with Spectre simulator in the Cadence design environment.
