Dies are typical products with dense technologies, whose structures are complex; design and manufacturing are difficult with long period. Effective 3D standard die carrier library of dies are of great importance to realize 3D rapid design of dies. In this thesis, modeling method for standard die carrier library of dies is systemically and deeply studied. The main contents are as follows:1. Modeling method for standard die carrier library of dies is constructed through analysis of basic structures, characteristics, classification and design process of dies, and comparison of some kinds of modeling methods for standard parts library.2. Product Feature modeling manufacturing oriented technologies, modeling method based on products and object-oriented technologies are studied, and then the product models of standard die carrier of dies based on feature are built. The modeling method for standard parts library and database technologies are studied, and then Database and parameterized feature models based on assembly of standard die carrier of dies are constructed.3. The prototype software system for parameterized CAD of standard die carrier of dies is developed, commercial CAD software SolidWorks 2005 and its API are used as CAD platform, Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 as developing tools and Microsoft Access 2003 as bottom database.The assembly models of die carrier can be directed produced by running the standard die carrier library software system which is developed with the parametric and associative 3D modeling method. So efficiency of die design is improved, and special design software systems for die design can be developed on basis of it.
