Research On The Development Of Library Information Service Models In The Information Culture Environment

With the appearance of the information society, information has been becoming an important element and strategic resource to promote productivity and social development, and information industry has come into being. As an important information service agency, library has its own characteristics and new operation models. Influenced by information culture, library services will change tremendously in the aspects of service time and space, content and ways. It's the good time for it to develop. Based on these issues, the author mainly discusses library information service models and related issues as following. Firstly, she reviews the domestic and international literatures on information culture and library information service patterns and puts forward the significance of researching on library information service patterns in the information culture environment. Secondly, on the basis of illustrating the connotation of information culture and the causes of information culture environment's formation, the author analyzes the role of information culture in library information service and the connotation and types of library information service. Thirdly, the status quo of library information services at home and abroad is analyzed, and the main problems of library information services are also disclosed. Fourthly, the situation of the new information needs of library users is accounted and the tendencies and advantages are discussed, too. Fifthly, the new model forms and their characteristics in the information culture environment are briefly illustrated and the developing measures are especially discussed, including building a person-centered library information culture, innovating ideas to provide special services, expanding and improving to reconstruct service system and extending service marketing, innovating information behaviors and seeking new service models.On the basis of the requirements of the information culture environment and developing trends of the library information services, the author researches the library information service models in the information culture environment theoretically and practically in order to guide the work and to enhance the quality and level of library information services, so that we can realize the sustainable development of the cause of the library and to hasten the development of economy, culture, science and technology and education.
