Aiming at the needs of modern testing instruments of vehicle performance, this paper proposes a new method of using ZigBee technology to achieve acquiring sensor data, building up a data acquisition system based on ZigBee communication technology. This system realizes the system of wireless data acquisition and processing for vehicle performance test. It adopts the star topology, in which several wireless sensor nodes acquire the sensor's original data that will be processed at the front end, and also uses the coordinator node to receive data and transmit it to portable device through serial interface.ZigBee is a kind of new wireless communication technology, which uses free ISM band, adopts anti-jamming DSSS and O-QPSK technology, fitting in the strong jamming working environment. Now, ZigBee is mainly applied to the static network environment, lacking the application to in the testing area of vehicle performance, which gives my research subject much broader space.From an overall perspective, this paper analyses this wireless acquisition solution based on ZigBee technology, and puts up the concrete realization of firmware. This paper also analyses anti-jamming and dependability of this system. ZigBee wireless communication technology is a combination of hardware and firmware, holding such layered architecture like OSI. This paper deeply studies the realization of firmware, gives detailed discussion of each layer in different chapter. First, the main characteristics of ZigBee hardware are analysed particularly. Next, the technologies associated with oil comsumption and speed sensor are introduced, and Microchip ZigBee protocol stack is combined to systematically discuss the realization of whole ZigBee specification v1.0. The application layer and application program are connected closely. Therefore, in the software design, combining with the main program frame of coordinator node, the primitive operation, relative function and the state sign of protocol stack are narrated. This paper mainly introduces the interrupt program of sensor node and the sending and receiving procedure of ZigBee protocol stack after describing the relative realization of ZigBee protocol stack. At last, the system testing result is given.
