With the development of the modern automobile industry, the automobile test system become more and more complex and huge, many automobile producers cry for controlling the vehicle's capability in the course of design and production of the vehicle. The effective measurement and data processing has good practicability and economic benefit. In the field of modern vehicle performance test, traditional measuring system can't meet the need of modern test because of its inherent shortcomings.Virtual instrument is one of the new technologies, which is evolving with the development of computer technology. Utilizing the flexibility and expansibility of virtual instrument technique, it overcomes the traditional instrument shortcomings and improves the exploitation efficiency, maintenance and measure precision of the test system. So, aiming at the shortcoming of test system used in our country and fulfilling the pratical need of the enterprise, this paper advances a new method to test vehicle performance based on VI (Virtual Instruments), studies and builts a new vehicle perfonnance test system based on virtual instrument technique. Author uses the VI system architecture with USB universal serial bus, adopts multi-sensor and data acquisition card and equips with the PC machine and the virtual instrument software. Thus, the data acquisition and processing system of automobile performance test based on the virtual instruments comes into being.Firstly, the paper analyzes the situation and development of vehicle capability test system home and abroad, the actual application states and foreground of the virtual instrument technology in brief. And, the content of this paper are described. Secondly, the measuring methods of vehicle performance test are studied and the whole scheme is introduced. Thirdly, the research and methods of resolution of the key technology of this paper are introduced. Fourthly, according to the basic request, the paper designs the basic structure of hardware system of the vehicle detector, and details the main parts which is used in the system, the signal-modulated circuit and the measures of system anti-jamming. Fifthly, the paper presents the partition of functional module, studies the main software design modules, such as data acquisition, data processing and softpanel design. The paper also studies the methods of software anti-jamming. Sixthly, the paper introduces the design of system database, the accessing method of database and how to manage the testing data. Finally, the paper analyzes the result and gives the question in design process, and points out the insufficiency of this paper and research emphases in the future.The paper analyzes the construction of test system based on vitual instrument and gives the real design. There is a guiding significance for enterprise to build test system based on virtual instrument in the factory. At one time, this item's research and application will have the wide mart-foreground,good economic benefit and societal benefit due to the great demand and wide application of this detector.
