Modern mechanical equipment has advanced in directions of large-scale, automatic, accurate and efficient, corresponding mechanical equipment real-time monitor and analyse become more important and indispensable. But the traditional monitoring instruments can not content the requirement of complicated, rapid, automatic, communication and intelligent.In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, this paper designs a remote monitoring and analyzing system for large-scale mechanism based on ARM7. It applies RTU (remote terminal unit) locating around the machinery to collect data which reflect the state of the mechanism from the sensor, and then sends these data to PC through a Ethernet chip. Then the careermen can observe and analyze the real-time state of the mechanism.There are two parts RTU and LabVIEW platform in this system framework. RTU based on 32 bits ARM7 contents modern complex work more efficiently than traditional 8 or 16 bits MCU. A high speed A/D is used to convert the signal from transducer and then RTU uploads the datum to Labview platform through Ethernet. The RTU communicates with other equipments around such as PLC by RS-485 and RS-232. In the software design, this paper uses operation systemμC/OS-II. There is one main task and six user tasks in the software. LabVIEW platform contains modules of signal generation, data collection, file management, swing analyse, time-field analyse, frequency-field analyse and alarm module to monitor and analyze mechanism timely online. Ethernet chip and small TCP/IP are used to communicate automatically. The hardware and software are modularized to make renovate facility and cheaply.The system has been used to collect a DC signal combined with sine signals as blooey signal. The sine signals were all seeked out with their swing and frequency displayed. If their swing is beyond the mark, the alarm light shines. This system is able to meet requirements expected.
