With the development of science technology, the emerging technology of virtual instrument is playing a more and more important role in the education system. Because of the increasing number of educated persons and the traditional teaching resources comparatively falling short, the improvement of teaching quality is considerably restricted. So remote virtual instrument experimental teaching proposed as an important part of experimental teaching evolution in colleges and an important direction of education modernization is combined by virtual instrument technology and network technology.In this thesis a real-time control system that uses PC card-type data acquisition system and LabVIEW software is designed, which can acquire, display and analyze data, and control actual objects. In the thesis by taking motor and rotary inverted pendulum for example, through analyzing the object, creating model, designing controller, simulation and real-time control, a remote virtual instrument experimental teaching system using DataSocket technology, Web technology and LabVIEW is designed, which can acquire experimental data and output control signal by data acquisition card on the server, and then transmit experimental data to remote clients through the network. On the client it can analyze experimental data and get control signal, and then transmit control signal to server through the network. This teaching method can reduce the cost of experimental equipments, save experimental space, improve the utilization rate of experimental equipments, cultivate and improve students'ability of innovation and practice.This thesis discusses the relative issues on the application of virtual instrument technology in experimental teaching at three aspects that are theory, technology and practice. Every experiment firstly creates model, derives formula; then designs controller and simulates; at last realizes remote real-time control and gets the best results through changing system's parameters. By achieving some experiments the remote virtual instrument experimental teaching system is proved to be very reliable, which can enrich and improve the existing experimental teaching methods, and have a good application value and current significance.
