At present, with the development of high vocational and technical education and the deficiency of funding for the experimental instruments, both the quantity and quality of the school’s experimental resources are not able to meet the actual demand when facing with so many students who need experiment. It is an economical solution to build a virtual electronic laboratory platform adopted the networking technology and virtual instrument technology, to realize the distant testing and controlling and share resource and data.In this thesis, a virtual electronic laboratory platform for remote use is build with a combination of the networking technology and virtual instrument technology. The object of this platform is to provide two kinds of experiment:(1) simulation experiments have been designed and realized, including amplitude modulation and demodulation, frequency modulation and demodulation, frequency mixing, and signal decomposition and synthesis;(2) testing and controlling experiments have been designed and realized, including arbitrary signal generator, spectrum analyzer, experiments of IIR filter and harmonic distortion. The simulation experiments consist of the pure software programming; achieve web publishing through the technology of remote front panel in LabVIEW, and the users remotely run the pilot projects by a browser or by means of connecting to remote front panel. Testing and controlling experiments consist of data acquisition card in the computer, instrument of NI-ELVIS and its provided virtual instruments. The experiments have been carried out by remotely capturing test signal on the experimental instrument, analytical processing with the use of virtual instruments and reading through the shared variables to local computer. After commissioning, the system is stable, could meet the design requirements.The paper focused on network communication for remote experiment system, the working principle and implementation. It also highlighted the design procedure of system’s hardware and software (including experimental project design, platform design, and network communication) and installation and configuration of DAQ, illustrating the effects of remote use.
