With the fast development of microelectronics and computer technology,more and more new concept and new technology emerge endlessly,for example,the PLD,EDA,SOPC,IP core,embedded system and so on.The new technology are penetrating into many fields promptly,such as the electron,communication,instruments,spaceflight etc.And they drive the development of social productivity and improve the informationization level for the whole society.The design of embedded system is developping toward the system on chip.The system on programmable chip based on FPGA and NiosII is noticed by many designer because of its advantage and characteristic such as flexible,cuttable and software and hardware programmable.Nowadays the interrelated research and application are not popularized,therefore the research on system on programmable chip based on NiosII has important significance.SOPC is a reconstructable system on a chip based on the programable logic device,and it combines the advantages of SOC and PLD/FPGA as the integrated technology of them.It integrates the hardware or software CPU,DSP,PLL,storage,I/O interface and programmable logic,so it can solve the SOC scheme flexibly and effectively,what is more,it has a short design cycle and low cost.As a result it fits the application fields of both.For the drastically competitive market,it provides advanced technology and comprehensive field of application products.This design takes the EP2C35 of Cyclone II family as the core chip,and makes the reduced platform,and then makes deep research on the methods of designing the hardware and software of the SOPC system.And we also test and validate the common memory module and peripheral equipment,and sums up the design methods and experience of SOPC based on Nios II.At last it designs the colorized LED sight light control system based on Nios II.As a result,we can build a solid foundation for the futurer application work of SOPC in the fields of the electron,communication,and industrial control etc.The article includes the following contents:1. The hardware circuit design of SOPC system based on FPGA,including the core FPGA chip circuit,the JTAG and AS downloading and debuging interfaces,the memory interface circuit,the peripheral circuit,the clock and the reset circuit design etc.2. The developping methods hardware and software of SOPC system,the programming and test of the memory and the common peripheral;3. The mechanism of Nios II software core,the developping methods of application in Nios II IDE and the transplant of the real time systemμC/OS-II.;4. The colorized LED sight light control system based on Nios II.
