Presently, the technology of fingerprint identification has been developped deeply and fast. It's always one of the most reliable measures in the field of personal identification. Also, usually, the equipments of fingerprint identification are cheaper than other identification technology(like face or iris identification).SOPC(System On Programmable Chip),is not only a kind of flexible and highly effective schemes on SOC,but also one new way to design system using software and hardware together. It makes all functional modules(like CPU,memory,I/O interface and so on)needed to form a system on only one programmable chip to realize the SOPC.NiosⅡis Altera's second version of RISC soft core CPU whose most obvious characteristic is that it can be configured very easily. The designer could customize special CPU for the system based on their special requirment, not limited by normal embedded CPU(like ARM or DSP).The main work is:1.As for the hardware,I designed and configured the fingerprint identification system based on NiosⅡsoft core CPU in the QuartusⅡwith SOPC Builder.I made the module for the fingerprint sensor, and embedded it in the former system to form an integrated system on programmable chip.2.For the software,I edit application program based on the fingerprint arthmetic and how to drive hardware,of course, the program was compiled successfully. Finally,I transplanted all of these on the NiosⅡembedded development board to realize the system.3.I optimized the system using customizing instruction and hardware accelerator based on the characteristic of NiosⅡsoft core CPU.The two ways made the system running much faster.
