Recently, in our country, science and technology was developed rapidly, the stand of industrialization has great improvement. But, the environment was destroyed more and more seriously. So the government decides to control the emission of contamination more strictly and build the network of environment monitoring in whole region.There are many characteristics to the spots of environment monitoring, such as dispersed, diversiform of geographical condition, nobody guard and so on. Now many systems of monitoring get the data through manpower, that is waster time and inefficient, others systems of monitoring get the data through the communication wire, that has many bothers in collocating wire and can't translate remotely. So it is necessary to find a method to transfer data. At the same time, the work of environment monitoring is often necessary transferring the data in different region. But now there is not an effectual flat for transferring the information between the regions of environment monitoring.For the characteristic of the environment monitoring, this thesis researched and designed a network system of environment monitoring based on GPRS. This system was realized from two aspects. One aspect is that an inner network was designed in the region of environment monitoring. This network constituted by the monitoring instruments of the spots and the computer of the monitoring center. A body is duly constituted under the charter. The hardware circuit of the monitoring instrument was designed by the S3C44B0X centering based on ARM. The application of the monitoring instrument was designed in theμClinux circumstance. Between the monitoring instruments and the center computer transfer data through the MC35i module, which resolved the problem which the monitoring spots collect data. The other aspect is that the network of the whole region was designed. This network constituted by the computers of the center of environment monitoring and used B/S(Brower/Server) structure design. Through configurating the Web server, the network can transfer static and dynamic data, which met the overall requirements of environment monitoring.This system has been applied to the provincial environment monitoring. A provincial network was formed by the region of municipalities and large enterprises. Data of monitoring spots upload duly, accurately. The information in the monitoring region exchanges swimmingly. This system met the requirements of provincial environment monitoring well.
