The Research And Implementation Of Environmental Monitoring System Based On GPRS

Environmental monitoring is an important technology department for stateenvironmental protection system. Many environmental protection measures are basedon it. In order to get a great number of environmental protection information in time,environmental protection administration needs to set up a environmental monitoringsystem, which should be good in transmitting speed, practicability, covering area,functional agility.First, this dissertation analyses several kinds of wire or wireless monitoringsystems. Then it introduces the wireless monitoring system based on GPRS andInternet. The system has some advantage, such as high-speed in transmitting,functional agility, convenient extendability and good practicability. The dissertationemphasises on the design of the monitoring system's terminal. In the design ofGPRS-terminal, ARM microprocessor (S3C4510B) and OS called uClinux are chosento set up researching platform based on Embedded System. So these measuresimprove the performance of the system, and there is room for system upgrade. At thesame time, Module design is adopted in the design of GPRS-terminal. There are fourmodules in the terminal, such as main control module, GPRS connection module,serial port transmittal module and network transmittal module. the software ofmonitoring center take advantage of many popular technologies in the design, Such asVB.NET, SQL Server and Socket network program.The dissertation is a part of the research on Environment Monitoring Systembased on GPRS. It's an important reseach task in Tianjin. The system is convenientfor system upgrade and adopting new advanced technologies in the future. Althoughthe system is designed for environmental monitoring, it is simply to apply the systemin other areas, such as traffic and electric power.
