The Study On The Reports About Peasant Workers Of People's Daily

At the end of 1980s, the first farmers' frenzied hunt for work incities erupted in our country, and there came the historical name so-called "peasant worker". However, peasant workers are not on equal terms with the citizen because of the dual (urban and rural) social structure, so that the "problems of peasant workers" occurred, which has became the hot topic society concerned.As an observer of the society, the media, therefore, should work from endeavor to enhance their morality and sense of social responsibilities, especially when facing the social problems such as peasant workers.The thesis, has a try to investigate the reports related to peasant workers focused of People's Daily, using a method of combining content analysis and quantitative analysis. So we can find the characteristic and the path of this kind of reports of People's Daily, through reviewing the page layout, report form, the subject matter and standpoint of the reports related to peasant worker within 19years—from 1988 to 2006. Then, the thesis pointed out the flaw and gave thesolutions to make the reports better under the background of building a "harmonious society". The solutions included three parts: firstly, making the faith of social responsibility of media; secondly, building the daily reporting mechanism for peasant workers and at last, doing reports on the standpoint of peasant workers.
