With the development of high speed digital technology, more and more standards have been brought out to meet this requirement. IEEE-1394, as a kind of open technology, has been widely used in many fields, such as: imaging, multimedia, mass storage and so on. It is a high speed but low cost serial bus system, designed to provide best effort data transport as well as quality service. It has been valued as one of the most efficient technology, and perhaps will be the first selection of the future project.As one of the cooperative project with IC design center of Tianjin University, we are designated to provid a peripheral circuit for their CMOS image sensor, which can realize the high performance data transportation between image sensor and computer.Based on the IEEE1394-1995 serial bus protoal, we made a focus on hardware design of the peripheral circuit and relative firmware, with the 1394 link-layer and physical-layer controller. These researches on 1394 serial bus interface circuit possess certain referential value for comprehending IEEE-1394.
