Great efforts have been contributed to satisfy the critical demands of high communication quality and data transfer rate in military communication equipment and system by various former researchers. There is no doubt that how to transfer the data more efficiently in the certain conditions becomes a focus research topic in both military and civil communications.The research here is mainly focused on how to realize the high data transfer rate in the given of limited bandwidth. Based on the requirements of the real environment, a TCM+8CPFSK system has been designed and applied to the ultra-short wave radio. Both the modulation and demodulation techniques and the coding techniques have been involved in the system, and have been combined by TCM to improve the performance. Besides, the thesis studies the selection scheme and implementation of the convolutional coding, viterbi decoding algorithm and the modulation and demodulation for TC-8CPFSK, after which the simulation and measurement result were shown to analyze the system performance. The system is implemented primarily based on FPGA, and could be designed flexibly with a relative low cost. Adopting the TCM system, it also has a high anti-jamming capability. With the capability of transferring 60K data under 25K bandwidth, it does fulfill the military communication requirements of high performance in anti-jamming, efficiency and reliability. The implementation of the system can practically benefit both military and civil communications. Finally, the study was extended to the system improvement by seeking for the probability of performance promotion when combined TCM with Turbo.
