Research On The Construction Of Knowledge Service Platform In Library

New challenge has emerged owning to the arrival of knowledge economy, the application of Internet technology and the appearance of knowledge management. Knowledge service has become the hot study in the field of library in the 21th century. The collection in the library no longer means the collection in the building of the library itself. The means of the service which is never influenced by the time and space turns on diversified characteristics. In such situation, it is necessary to use the theory of knowledge management in library and then achieve the transform from the information service to knowledge service. The knowledge service should make more librarians participate in it so as to exploit the dormant knowledge. What's more, the librarians ought to exert their experience and skill in the organization and service; and they should attach themselves to the process of solving the problems of the users with the aim of innovation of the knowledge service. It cannot but choose to form the platform of knowledge service and provide all-round, specialized and individualized service in the modern library. This dissertation focuses on the theory and methods of knowledge service and the way to built its platform in the library, which can be recapitulated as follows:(1) It introduces the related definition of information and knowledge and knowledge service.
