Combining with advanced science and technology such as modern computer network technology, database management system and modern communication technology etc, the reservoir dispatching automatization system has developed from the indispensable application system such as water inspecting system ,flood forecasting system, reservoir dispatching and water information querying system etc into an integrated functioning system used for the dispatching of water power stations .Using the management information system, database management system, Geographic Information System ,optimization technology ,statistics etc. This paper with the project background of the Three Gorges cascade dispatching of reservoirs, bring forward the plan of dispatching Automation System of Three Gorges cascade reservoirs. This design have been adopted in the Three Gorges project. Simultaneity, the allied communication mode of water remote inspecting system such as Inmarsat-c and PSTN developed in this paper has been successfully applied to GeZhouBa Project first, which also will be applied to reservoirs dispatching automatization system of Three Gorges.This article introduces the primary functions and development of the reservoir dispatching automatization system in first. According to the fact requirement of dispatching the Three Gorges cascade reservoirs, the article indicates the technique key point in the system constructing. Then , the article study and analysis the channel communication modes used by a water inspecting system, and indicates the advantage and shortage of each communication mode. According to the fact situation of dispatching Automation System of Three Gorges cascade reservoirs, the article designs the satisfying communication mode for it. Simultaneity, the article designs the N-ties software architecture aiming to the reservoir dispatching automatization system with focus on data access and process logic.
