Along with the number growth of mobile subscribers and the greater diversity of the mobile communication services, especially data services, the existing Second-Generation mobile communication system has gradually shown up its insufficiency in many aspects such as system capacity, types of service can provide, and quality of services. As one of the world's three main standards of 3G, TD-SCDMA is proposed by our country. Through the endeavors in recent years, it has already passed various special tests , TD-SCDMA is already at the gate.In China, the Second-generation mobile communication system is primarily consisted of GSM, to upgrade such a huge system to 3G requires a considerable period of time, and from the technical view, the core network of TD-SCDMA reuse the foundation of GSM network, thus there will surely be a certain stage where the 2G system coexist with the 3G. Seen this, dual-mode terminals which support TD-SCDMA and GSM at the same time will become the first choice of the market, because it's a good combination which can provide high-end services for the users of 3G, and may make up the lack of coverage in the initial establishing period of 3G network by using 2G, so it will help the smooth transition from 2G system to 3G, and also will accelerate the steps of TD-SCDMA commercialization.Based on the above considerations, the research of TD-SCDMA/GSM/GPRS dual-mode terminal software is necessary, which is the topic of this paper.Since dual-mode UEs supporting GSM/GPRS and TD-SCDMA are most expected in the market of China, this paper will focus on TD-SCDMA/GSM/GPRS...
