TD-SCDMA, which means Time Division-Synchronization Code Divesion Multiple Access, is one of the three technical standards of the 3rd-generation wireless communication. TD-SCDMA has better frequency spectrum utilization and higher system capacity with new technologies, such as smart antenna, software radio, etc. Also, TDD mode is especially suitable for asymmetrical internet data service.Due to the great support from government and telecom operators, the whold TD industry alliance and industry chain is becoming mature. Many equipment and device manufactures are involved in developing TD products. In this thesis, it is to design and implement a TD-SCDMA handheld mobile terminal with dual-processor architecture.Firstly, the key ICs in the terminal system of TD-SCDMA are presented. Detailed analysis on performance and technology target will involve following aspects: DBB, ABB, multimedia processor OMAP, RF receiver & transmitter, dual-port RAM. Feasibility of developing handheld mobile terminal with dual-processor architecture and VT function is also proved in this thesis.Based on the above, the hardware plan and design of handheld mobile terminal with dual-processor architecture is achieved including power-on & power-off, code downloading, sleep in and sleep out, charging, voice, VT and other sub-module design. The most important is to adopt DPRAM to complete communication architechture of dual-processor in the wireless communication terminal system, which has produced profound significance. At last, the test result of BB and RF performance proves the correctness and availability of this project.This project joined in"TD-SCDMA Grand Network Technology Application Test", which was held and organized by Chinese government. Among all the terminal products developed by 12 manufactures that joined in the test, this product is the only one that can implete VT function, which provide valuable test data and experience for terminal VT permance of TD-SCDMA, bringting high value to the design and implementation of high-end VAS (value-added service) on TD terminal.
