Applications Research Of WCDMA&GSM Dual-mode Terminal Protocol

As one of 3G international standards, WCDMA already has many versions such as R99, R4, R5, R6, R7, in which the R99 version is more mature relatively. WCDMA is in the context of the gradual deployment of the world in recent years, and the R99 version of the WCDMA standard became one of the mainstream 3G standards adopted by terminal manufacturers currently. It combines voice communication with multimedia communications, and affords value-added services including video, music, web browsing, video conferencing and other information services.The maximum data rate it supports can up to 2Mb/s. With respect to our country, it is expected to award 3G licenses soon. Taking into account the initial 3G network, the network is hard to cover large areas, and GSM system in the country with high coverage will be used in future for a long time, so it is practically significant that develop a WCDMA&GSM dual-mode mobile phone for mobile communications terminals manufacturers.This paper includes two respects.On one hand, based on the WCDMA&GSM dual-mode protocol stacks solution provided by the chip manufacturers, the data link layer of the WCDMA protocol stacks is developed reversely using reverse development technology deeply,and Then the quality of service of wireless link control sub-layer issues is analysed and explored deeply.On the other hand, BREW is used as a development tool on the application layer to implement the related type of supplementary services,and the voice recognition function of mobile terminals on the basis of the third-part engines.The research of this paper is based on "WCDMA&GSM dual-mode terminals research & development" as one of the major projects of Lenovo Corporate Research & Development. The research follows the current trend of development of mobile terminals.It will be a practical significance to enhance market competitiveness for domestic mobile communications terminals manufacturers.
