The paper based on the project "Modern Alteration of a passive Sonar ranging system", which was improved on physic construction, circuit system and signal processing technique. The system includes sound-electricity transition, signal data collection, real-time signal processing, parallel digital processing by multi-DSPs, measure of distance and orientation, real-time display by PC and so on. And it is on the top level in the nation and even in the whole world.In order to meet the need of high-speed, real-time and parallel signal processing task, this system uses a high parallel interconnection structure which is constructed by multi-DSPs as the signal processing platform. However, the communication cost between the processing nodes in a parallel processor is the performance bottleneck of the processor. So, the seeking of a highly efficient interconnection technique which inter-node communication can be accomplished with lower cost became almost the most significant research. It improves the system's demand of the data transmit control and the design and realization of the parallel signal processor.Based on the project, this paper described the whole hardware system and some hardware and software's key design. The major study object of the paper is the "Parallel digital signal processor by multi C64x DSPs". Serials study and research about the design and implementation of this static parallel processor has been done, including the study about the topology and performance of parallel processor, especially the static networks, and including the design and performance of the parallel interconnection structure and so on.Chapter 1 gives a comprehensive description about the significance of the research, and the current status of real-time signal processing (DSP), FPGA, and architecture of parallel processors and so on. The research orientation and structure of the paper are also introduced.
