Research On Web Service-based Distributed Document Management Technology

This paper focuses on the key technologies of Web-Service based distributed document management, including Web-Service based distributed system structure, Web-Service based distributed document work flow and distributed document content management.First, based on the requirement analysis and Web-Service application pattern of distributed document management, a system skeleton is presented for the Web-Service based management of distributed document, aiming at resolving the traditional problems of concentrated document management system such as overloading and conjestion , the system structure also supports distributed storing, inquiry, and processing of the document. The structure adopts Web-Service technology with SOAP protocol, which can effectively hide the tribial details in single-site document management system from users and enhance inter-operation ability between distributed sites. Meanwhile, The system skeleton eliminates the drawbacks of opening special ports for distributed application through the firewall, and lessens the web-malfunction impacts on work flow due to the asynchronous data transmission mechanism.Second, the work flow technology in document management is thoroughly studied. In order to solve the problem of interregional document transmission, a Web-Service based document flow schema is proposed, which packs the interregional document with Web-Services interface and models the work flow into web services for users. In this paper, a applicable subsystem based on the Web Service document workflow is designed.At last, the document content management technology including version control and document searching are discussed. The check-in and check-out technology solves the concurrent accessing conflict problem, and the version tracing method makes the document timely updated. Using the integration of the workflow and version control technologies, a distributed document searching mechanism is realizedThe research work has been successfully applied in some e-government management system.
