Office Automation (OA) is a comprehensive technological science that rose in the 1970s, the development of which utilizes multiple technologies , including network technology, software engineering technology, database technology, and so on. The OA system has changed the traditional style of complicated, low-efficiency office work in the past, and has brought about the daily office work of paperlessness, automation and networking. The development of OA system has enter the phase of collaborative work and knowledge management, which provides the in-time and scientific base for the management and decision making of enterprise. As the informatization construction of universities gradually deepen, and after the hardware environment and software environment of all kinds of different application systems of campuses were basically complete, the further integration of the way schools working and managing, and utilizing knowledge management to build a unify office system platform is required. But current OA system products are basically just general products that lack expansibility, and are not compatible with the school's current other systems. So there is a necessity to design an OA system that fits the school itself. This article uses the theory of knowledge management as guidance, applying network technology, database technology, data mining technology, and so on, proposes the design scheme of document management module in the OA system. The primary technologies that are adopted include jBPM workflow management system, Struts2 Framework, Spring Framework and Hibernate Framework. The article introduces the overall requirements of the system and selectively analyses the requirement of sending-documents management and receiving-internal/external-documents management of document management module. The article also introduces the general architecture design of the OA system, the building of technical infrastructure, the selection and design of the database and the design and implementation of the document management module. In the end, it concludes the whole article, and look to the future of subsequent work.
