Design And Implementation Of TD-SCDMA Configuration Management System Based On TMN

With the development of telecom and maturity of 3G technologies, the scale of cellular network is becoming much larger; the structure of the network is changing constantly, and the complexity of the network keeps increasing day by day. Thus the maintenance task is becoming more and more important. CMS (Configuration Management System) is foundation of TMN, The performance of TMN depends closely on the design of the CMS.The project in this thesis was accomplished in ZTE Corporation when the author interned there. The CMS is based on the TMN architecture and it meets new requirements in 3GPP.The main task of the thesis includes five parts. Firstly, it gives a detailed analysis of the theory of TMN and TD-SCDMA. Secondly, it presents the construction of information model for TD-RNC. Thirdly, it introduces design of functional modules and data flow. Forthly, the thesis introduces the implementation of the server side and client side of CMS. A description of the test environment and its results is given in the last part.Compared to the traditional TMN, CMS in this thesis has the following advantages. It is divided into two layers: palatform layer and application layer. This hierarchical architecture is convient for new development. XML makes Information modeling much easier than ASN.1. The client in CMS produces GUI using XML, making it flexible to customize GUI.
