The design and manufacture of integrate circuit now is not the task of integrate circuit manufacturer with the micro electronic technology developing. The system designer would like to design Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) themselves to meet the requirement of client for multiplicity and time. So Programmable Logic Device (PLD) as Field Programmable Gates (FPGA) and Complex Programmable Logic Device (CPLD) are used widely. The advanced technology of hardware designs using these Programmable Logic Devices develope quickly.PCI Local Bus is intended for use as an interconnect mechanism between highly integrated peripheral controller components, peripheral add-in boards, and processor/memory systems. The processing speed of CPU has become higher and higher, and the capability of the extern memory has been increasingly greater. As a result, the higher performance of computer bus has been demanded. Because of higher speed, better reliability, lower cost and more excellent compatibility, PCI Local Bus has taken up the leading position at various PCI bus protocols. It is the first choice to adopt PCI Local Bus in the development of relative projects.Firstly, PCI Local Bus technology is generally introduced, including the major features of PCI Local Bus, the concepts of basic signals, PCI Local Bus operation and configuration space of PCI device in the thesis. Subsequently, the correlative technology and choice of the design of the system are summarized. The chip (EP1K30QC208-3) in this design and mode of data transmission are introduced. Finally, The design of based on PCI Local Bus interface is finished with the chip.Firstly, the technology of device driver in Windows 2000 is introduced, including the developing and status of the device driver. Writing Windows WDM device driver has been demonstrated in detail. Subsequently, In the WDM driver design, we research the work theory of the WDM driver deeply, and programmed the driver using the third party software DRIVERSTUDIO. Finally, Some good suggests are given on the design for the future.
