This dissertation represents the design and hardware implementation of a data communication device in a military development project with PCI technology.The main function that the data communication board carries out is sending data under the control of industry computer to the same card in the simulation computer and also receiving data from it. Through this way the two computers can communicate.Firstly, the fuctions and technical requirments of the communication board are introduced in this thesis, and three ways to realize the fuctions and requirments are given and compared. Further, the EDA method and main technologies adopted in the design are presented such as Top-Down methods, VHDL programing, FPGA&CPLD technology and PCI technology.Secondly, the dissertation describes the design and implementation of communication board and the mending of the used PCI interface logic. On the basis of the analysis on the developed PCI logic, the desinger improve upon the PCI interface logic according to the project's requirments.Moreover, the dissertation explains the composition, functions and internal design of the PCI board. In the end, the debugging methods and the design results are provided in the thesis.Lastly, some disadvantages and improvements of the data communication board are summarized in the article.At the present time, the test system has been in operation for quite a time. In a word, the test system we developed is of great value.
