The rapid development of IPTV has given the entertainment and media industries great increase of economy. It has been an investment and research hotspot for every telecom runners, cable network operators and devices providers. IPTV service system, as an important part of the whole IPTV industry, is a powerful brake for runners and players to win the market. It is important for players to have a low cost, stable, high throughput, scalable and easy to deploy service platform.P2P technologies have been used widely since 1999 in various fields of resource sharing and working collaborations. Also, it can be used in IPTV service systems. It arose more and more people's interest in researching and using in large scale, because it inherently has high scalability, robustness, fault tolerance, non-centralized server and self-organized. This paper uses P2P technology and mode to gain an IPTV service system with full use of computer resources, high throughput and easy deployment. In the research tasks, the author does the following main work:1. Analyzing current IPTV service systems and pointing out the shortcomings of these systems, then, avoiding these shortcomings in the new system design.2. Using P2P technologies to make the IPTV system more scalable, easier deployment, and full use of resources in current IPTV system.3. Adopting the concepts of P2P agent and P2P resource network to make the non-P2P IPTV terminals take advantages of P2P network and make usage of P2P under control.4. Giving a solution to combine P2P IPTV service system into the current one to form dual overlay logical application network (CDN network and P2P network).5. Discussing the design principle, node architecture, audio/video data processing of IPTV service system based on pure P2P technology. Making the peer work under three modes: processing local file, processing file and stream from network.
