Today, TV system is faced with the updating from analog to digital. The Nation Broadcasting $ TV Office said that before 2015 all the TV system will be changed from analog to digital. Digital TV (DTV) begins not very early in China and DTV transmitter is also laggard. Most TV stations home are using imported DTV transmitting devices. It is showed that at the present, if we'd like to make DTV popular, the cost control and the daily maintenance are not optimistic. So to make DTV transmitter in our own country is especially important in considering the overall situation.The dissertation presents the digital TV and its transmitter, especially exciter and its up-converter part are emphasized. Firstly, an overview of frequency synthesizer is presented, as well as output requirements of synthesizer. Secondly, a theoretical analyst of phase-locked loop is provided including loop acquisition and noise response. Thirdly, practical block diagram of synthesizer are put forward on the basic of foregoing theory. Finally, some parts of circuit are simulated and analyzed.
