In the field of wireless correspondence, high performance of frequency source is the core part of communication facility, radar, electronic reconnaissance and resistance equipment. The phase-locked loop frequency synthesizer is a kind of phase lock installment and it is a kind of separate gap frequency code generator with high stability frequency. Along with the development of numerical control technology, the phase-locked circuit frequency synthesis technology controlled by DPS demonstrates its superiority in producing signal. It has the characteristics like small volume, low power loss, quick frequency shift and elevated signal indication.This paper realizes the design of frequency-hopping source by applying the phase-lock technique, and uses the pattern of ADF4113 compound D/A switch MAX538. It mainly introduced the following four parts. First, it introduced the basic application of the phase-locked loop and its work principle. Next, it introduced two design of the 8GHz frequency-hopping source. Third, it debugs each part of the design step by step. Finally, it tests the technical specification of the overall system, and the test result show that the output frequency satisfies basically to caper change from7.8GHz to 8.64GHz.Using the pattern of ADF4113 and D/A switch MAX538, PLL frequency output expanded the scope of the regulation. And it also means a lot to realize the design of frequency-hopping source in the wide frequency.
