The task is consigned to us by Changzhou Yincheng electronics limited company.Along with the science and technology development, the modern industry automaticity level becomes more and more high, and the product line's rhythm becomes more and more quick. Because of the high cost and low efficiency, the traditional quality inspection method already could not satisfy the modern manufacturing industry's demand. The video detection technology has the merits of non-contact, high accuracy, fast speed and high efficiency, and meets the automation production's requirement. It has become a powerful guarantee of products' quality in modernization production.This paper detailedly introduced a solution of image pre-processing system in video detection system and implemented a FPGA subsystem which had the function of video capture and image pre-processing. The system used Altera Corporation's FPGA as the central processor. It was composed of video capture module, asynchronous FIFO module, video decode module, I2C configuration module, image frame storing control module, image low-level processing module, communication module and FPGA configuration circuit. The analog video signal was captured by CCD sensor and converted to the digital video signal by video A/D processor SAA7113. Digital video signal was sent to the asynchronous FIFO buffer. Video decode module used the method of identification the digital video data stream to acquire the image data and then stored them in the frame memory. Image low-level processing module pre-processed the image and sent the worked data to the latter DSP system for further image detection through the communication interface.The system was developed under the platform of Quartus II, ModelSim and Synplify software. It was implemented in FPGA and reached the anticipated effect. The system can also be used in the circumstance that needs the image to be processed fast.
