With the rapid development of electronic science, image transmission and process, the robot video's research and application was paid more and more attention, which has resulted in excellent results in many fields. Especially, in recent years, robot video technology has become an important research subject in high technology area.A solution of image transmitting system in robot video area was introduced in this paper detailedly, which had the function of video capture and image pre-processing. The system used Altera Corporation's FPGA as the central processor. It was composed of video capture module, asynchronous FIFO module, I~2C configuration module, image frame storing control module, communication module and FPGA configuration circuit. The analog video signal was captured by CCD sensor and converted to the digital video signal according with ITU656 by video A/D processor SAA7113. Digital video signal was sent to the asynchronous FIFO bufer. After the singal was got by FPGA, the system changed its schedule. The VGA controller module sent the singal to the VGA, which made the video displayed.Verilog HDL has been adapted in the design of the main controller. The system was developed under the platform of Quartus II, ModelSim and Synplify software. It was implemented in FPGA and reached the anticipated effect. The system can also be used in the circumstance that needs the image to be processed fast.
