Following the success of "Two Conferences", the spring wind of building the harmonious society has searched all over the whole China. The agricultural resource is the foundation that the mankind depends on for existence, and for us, knowing the current situation of the agricultural resource of our country soberly, solving various problems in its management and conscientious application, which is the strategic choice of the agriculture development in our country.Agriculture is occupying the irreplaceable position in national product as the secondary industry of China. The one main goal of building harmonious society is to develop agriculture. On the purpose of that, the national government has invested very big manpower, financial resources and material resources in agricultural modernization, aiming at realizing the accurate agriculture mode of production with high-efficiency and low cost.The technology of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) has entered the stage of industrialization nowadays after having gone through starting, preparing, and developing stages in our country. Now its basic theory along with various methods of practice has become very ripe. With the development of GIS, all trades and professions have set up each corresponding information managementsystem based on GIS, and have made use of the data effectively with various spatial data memory technologies.Having considered the deficiency of the domestic and international current situation to agricultural resource management, and having adopted the profound analysis of data management of agricultural resource, the author has summarized some results and experiences and brought forward the thoughts of managing agricultural production increased day by day with technology of GIS and SDB, the key of which is to utilize the object-oriented SDB in standing up numerous and complicated datum organization and management of agricultural resource. First of all, on the basis of peculiar characteristic of management of agricultural resource and having studied GIS and SDB technology, the author has proposed to set up the thought of the agricultural resource database with the Geodatabase data model of object-oriented. Secondly, it is made to use the third party's CASE tool, and set up UML model of agricultural resource of database, and then having introduced it into ArcGIS, and set up the agricultural resource database. At the end of the article, it is about the secondary development to ArcGIS software that is utilized to structure the Database management system, and the author has made a qualitative analysis and appraisal about such technological means.The project background of this paper is the construction of the agricultural resource database in Shanxi province, which is playing a leading role not only in Shanxi province but also in the whole country. To adopt such a scheme is the very embodiment of the object -oriented systematic design philosophy, and it has put forwardone new idea to produce for agriculture that realizes the modernization of agricultural resource management and agricultural production as well.
