Agriculture is the foundation of national economy. At the vital historic stage when the central government put the issue of agriculture, countryside and farmers onto a new high level in the history, when the whole country is constructing a easy life in villages in an all-around way, China definitely put forward the idea of further improving the important function of science and technology in supporting the development of modern agriculture in the future. Based on this background, the action of carrying out digital agriculture has become a common sense in various respects.Digital agriculture, put forward and developed based on the concept of "digital earth", is an agriculture model of new type in 21st century and a national challenging objective. The research and development of digital agriculture spatial information management platform with the application of 3S technology as its key, is a breakthrough of the research of digital agriculture. The agricultural GIS research supported by 3S technology, which has been developed in China in recent years, has laid a good foundation for the development of digital agricultural spatial information management platform. The vigorously developing modem agriculture park in recent years has become a good demonstration base for the construction of digital agricultural spatial information management platform.China has attached great importance to the research of digital agriculture in recent years. Based on the relative researches for many years, the national 863 program carried out the digital agriculture special plan in 2003. As one of the most developed regions in economy along the sea, Shanghai listed the "several key techniques in digital agriculture" as an important scientific research project to tackle key problems in 2003. This thesis was finished supported by the 01 sub-project which was "The development of digital agricultural spatial information management platform"(ProjectNo:03DZ19301).The thesis is composed of eight chapters. Chapter 1 is introduction, which introduces the origin of the project, the important significance of the research, relative research status quo at home and abroad, major contents and structure frame of the thesis. Chapter 2 is theoretical foundation, which mainly analyzed the relation between digital agriculture and agricultural informatization. It points out that digital agriculture is the core and the highest expressive style of agricultural informatization, and that digital agriculture has an important impellent function to agricultural informatization. Chapter 3 is technological foundation, which analyzed both the technological frame of digital agriculture in a macro scale way and the technological system of the digital agricultural spatial information management platform in a medium scale way. Chapter 4 is the total design of the platform, which constructs the general frame of the digital agricultural spatial information management platform, and discuss the key techniques to development the platform in a micro scale way. Chapter 5 is a case developing software of platform. The author has designed and developed the agricultural information share security control case based on Web Services, which is the most advanced technique in current GIS field. Chapter 6 is the coding standard research. The author has put forward the standard system of digital agriculture, as well as the classification and coding scheme aimed at agricultural information management, share and query. Chapter 7 is application demonstration, which has analyzed in detail the construction background, the general design, the database design, the system functions design, arrangement of agricultural knowledge, distribution of the spatial information on the internet of the spatial information management platform of demonstration base, and developed some module functions.
