On basis of analyzing the disadvantages of traditional scheduling planning method, this article discussed the content and features of critical chain method systematically. It made a research on application of critical chain method in software projects management, and summarized the specific model of critical chain project management in multi-projects environment.The three estimation method was used to estimate the process time. We used 50% probability of estimated completion time to replace the previously estimated 90% probability of completion time; the priorities evaluation system for software development projects was established. The fuzzy synthetic evaluation method was used to determine the project priorities; it expounded the method of scheduling planning for bottlenecks and non-bottleneck tasks. Each project should be in accordance with The later, the better arrangement, and projects start according to the beginning time of their constrained resource; root variance method was applied to determine the size of buffer. Project buffer, feeding buffer and resource buffer were set in corresponding buffer location through the project. Two indicators were used as standards to judge the status of buffers, and they were percentage of the project buffer consumption and critical chain task completion rate. The project schedule was monitored through project buffer and feeding buffer to control the project progress. And resource competition can be eased by the introduction of resource buffer.The customization of multiple software projects management were taken as example, expatiate concrete application of the method. The Example proved that the model can guarantee a shorter duration of the project; by setting the buffer, not only to achieve a safe time to share, better absorption of fluctuations which were generated by uncertainty of the project; and the processes of project can be effective controlled by applying the tracking management system.
