Continuous Phase Modulation(CPM) is a class of nonlinear modulation scheme with memo- ry,which has a good spectrum characteristics and power efficiency.They are particularly appeali- ng in radio and wireless communications.In despite of those excellent characteristiccs,CPM are essentially nonlinear and with memory.It leads to difficultics of high complex receiber and syn- chronization in CPM signal's applicat- ions.Generally,CPM signal's demodulation use the very complex Maximum-Likelih- ood-Sequence-Detection(MLSD)algorithm.So the research of sim- ple and practicable demodulation algorithms is significant for CPM signal's application.In this thesis,the common expression of the CPM signals, the characteristic of phase and the function of CPM signal's power spectral den sity(PDS)were introduced at first,base on the- se,the PSD of the CPM signals was sumulated,and the result shows that the spectral properties was influenced by all of the modulation parameters.Then, MLSD and Viterbi algorithm were researched,based on Laurent Decompositon , proposed CPM's optimum and suboptimum co- herent demodulator,and the performance of these methods was simulated,through the analysis of these simulation result,wo can clearly find that optimum and suboptimum coherent demodulator based on Laurent Decompositon,which reduced the complexity of CPM's receiver compared to MLSD receiber while without great loss in the bit-error performance.
