The higher vocational education's raise goal is provides the massive application technology talented person for the society, but the higher vocational education was still can't meet the society's need. At present, in order to push the higher vocational education forward, the government plans to build 100 model colleges, so the higher vocational colleges are carrying on the curriculum reform. Project-based Learning is applied in different curriculum. According to the facts of the higher vocational education, this paper combined with the characteristic of the Design of the database, apply Project-based Learning in the higher vocational education classroom.Research in this paper starts from actual problems faced by teaching of design of the database and bases on former research. Literature research, diagnoses and inspection are used to this paper. We bring Project-based Learning into this course, discuss detailed each step of work . The Research has got some conclusions, such as:1. The application of Project-based Learning can stimulate the enthusiasm and interest of the students.2. The application of Project-based Learning solve the problem that how to combine the theory with the practice.3. The application of Project-based Learning improves the integrated vocational capability of student, which lays the foundation for their future employment.The innovation of this study is constructing a project-based teaching design for high vocational course—database, which provides a workable program to implement Project-based-Learning, and provides reference for the high vocational teachers who teach computer course and accumulate samples and information to prepare project-based teaching materials.This paper is divided into five parts:The first part is the Exordium. In this part, we mainly argue the importance of this research, analyze the background, goal, methods and meaning of the research etc.The second part has discussed Project-based Learning's derivation and current situation, features and theoretical foundation.In third part,we further analyze and design the elements in Project-based Learning.In forth part, detailed processes of applying Project-based Learning to teaching of Design of the database has been introduced.The fifth part has summarized the instruction result, pointed out the present weakness in this research and pointed out the direction for further research.
