Design & Realization Of Workflow-oriented Insurance Policy Management System

China is witnessing as much a rocketing growth of her economy as a robust thirst for life insurance that covers a variety of products which can be numbered in hundreds. The birth of insurance plan management system is inspired by the thorny point that the insurance plans are in such a huge amount and category that it's difficult for those insurance companies to handle them with full efficiency. However, each insurance company's current policy system is bedeviled by many drawbacks, say, no permission to change the procedure, difficulty in authority management, low system performance, frustration in business monitoring, which could be resolved by the introduction of workflow.Workflow, a kind of conception aimed at those normal activities cooped up by certain procedures, is poised to play a key role in business procedure modeling, business simulation analysis, business procedures optimization, procedure management and integration, which could pave the way for the business procedure automation. It's a good practice to break working activities into well-defined tasks, roles, rules and processes for better execution and control, thus the improvement of organization's productivity and efficiency. The workflow employment by insurance plan management system is all but to smooth out the setbacks faced by existing system, give the full play of workflow, standardize the procedure of plan usage, unravel a clear picture of plan utilization, trim down the costs of plan storage and management, and improve the work efficiency.What this document discusses, is regarding the requirement, design and development of a new generation's EOS-workflow-oriented plan system deployed by a domestic insurance company. Firstly, it introduces the conception, principal, and evolvement of workflow, based on which it put the emphasis on different aspects in light of EOS workflow:functionality and characteristics, technical edge, core structure, and development tools for EOS platforms. Afterwards, it punctuates the requirement analysis for the new workflow based plan system, with the incorporation of idea learned from actual situation. Then comes the system design which encompasses the whole design, workflow design, database design and user interface design.... Finally it goes to realization of the new system.With the elaboration beginning from requirement gathering to design, and then development, this article illustrates an example on what an important role workflow will be playing as part of the plan system, as well as how efficiently it handles in the course of insurance plan management heading for standardization and scientization.
