Research On The Construction Patterns Of Chinese Born Digital Journal Collections

The study of patterns about Chinese born digital journal collection developments, which learn ed from successful experiences abroad and built four Chinese born digital journal collection development models, and done a in-depth analysis of the library collections development strategys and model selection problems about Chinese born digital journals.Firstly, the study sorted out the literature survey of existing research results and theories, analyzed why we should develop the Chinese born digital journal collections, and introduced some of the original digital resource construction projects in China and abroad. Secondly, the Chinese born Digital journal Collections building construction requirements and processes were described, and a Chinese born digital journal collections development work flow chart was build.This study found some effective born digital collections building experiences abroad with the case method, the U.S. Center for Research Libraries Programme (CRL). the UK's network resources library project (Web Archive), the MINERVA project of U.S. Congress Library, and the PADI of Australia National Library of.Each detailed analysis of the projects had been conducted.After simple abstract, four patterns of Chinese born digital journal collections had been given.the Chinese born digital journal collection development experiences had been analyzed from the four projects.and the advantages and limitations had been describedBased on these studies, the paper pointed six contingency chosen factors of Chinese born digital journal collection development.and analyzed their impacts on pattern's choices.Finally,according to the specific work demand of collection development for library,from the micro-level deconstruction of the four cases, this paper described the contents of each pattern.The paper summarized 12 recommendations to build collections for the library who want to do the actual Chinese born Digital Collections.
