Information is permeating each corner with a unprecedented posture in the 21st century now, which changing people's original way of life. As China's potential staff in scientific work area, postgraduates need to use information resources to expand their knowledge reserves, furthering their academic research by sharpping critical thinking, during which information literacy plays an vital part. The graduate students information literacy level, to some extent, not only determines their innovative consciousness and scientific research ability, but also affects the university training level, which even impacts the construction of national innovation talents system. In recent years, some scholars pointes out that the educational quality of postgraduate is declining, one of the important expressions is lackness of information literacy. Therefore, strengthening the cultivation of postgraduate information and then improve it, is vital to various aspects with theoretical and practical significance.This paper provides strategies of information literacy cultivation for graduate students, which based on the defect of graduate student information literacy. First, the author gives a specific concept of information literacy of postgraduate, then interpretates its connotation from research background, on the based of which main content of information literacy of postgraduate is expounded, so done the components of information, such as information ability, information will and information character. Second, the author points out defects owed by Chinese postgraduate about information literacy such as lack of information concepts, disabilities for information, weakness of information consciousness and flaw in the information character and so on through the investigation of the situation the information literacy of postgraduate. Third, the author discusses and reflects factors that influence cultivation of postgraduate information literacy, taking multicultural environment, mentor guidance, teaching curriculum, the library education factors, the postgraduate themselves as examples. Finally, the strategies for cultivation of postgraduate information literacy such as the guidance of environment edification utility, the integration of teaching scheme, the optimization of library resources and the explorations of graduate students self-study are systematically are comprehensively constructed from the perspective of information dissemination theory, constructivism theory and social learning theory and a further prospect of the study is also put forward at last.
