This article focuses on introducing the verification of integrated circuit development.With the great development of the IC technology, the design has larger scale and more complicated functions.At the same time,the cycle of the circuit design will be longer and the logic error will be more and more,which lead to greater risk of the chip development.So the verification will be more and more important.But the complicated function and the large scale also resulted in the increase of the difficulty of the verification. So the time on verification is 60% to 70% in the total work time.How to find a efficient verification method is increasingly important.This thesis present the basic conceptions, the different classification of the verification.Then the paper introduce the HDL-based function verification methodology and object-oriented function verification methdology. Because of the shortcomings of them, the paper present simulation-based Specman function verification methodology. All the work is following simulation-based Specman verification flow. First of all, studying on the related specifications of Router module, then design the verification plan and find the verification requirements. Then the development process is splited to three phases.1) based on the existing specification ,design the RTL code. 2)Router eVC are developed at module level, base on the testbench and the verification requirements, a testcase is designed, and simulate with the RTL code.3)The accumulated coverage results which are collected based on the testcase during the regression. Then analysis the hole of the coverage, change the verification enviroment or add the new testcase to fill the coverage hole. At the end of the verification job, the code coverage and fuction coverage are 100%.The paper will analysis and introduce the result.
