This thesis made a case study of sales management system of middle-sized steel enterprise (Shanghai No.3 Steel Company), which implemented an IT management project to integrate various resources in centralised way. The status quo and renovations of business process reconstruction were analyzed in detail.The old sales management system could't meet the requirements of daily management so that employee and managers were busy at handle various business data and had no time for management retrospection and upgradation. Firstly the old system could not support the business model and modern management idea of emphersizing sales contract as main thread and finance management as core,because it only supported part of sales management function such as order management, bill of lading management,invoicing for internal use and data interface with the old Anyi accounting system. Secondly, the old system did not cover warehouse management, merchandise on hand management, billet management and quality management, which made finished product consignment documenting had to be done by hand and incured delay of feedback on distribution and delivery of finished product.Quality assurance document could not deliver in time to customers, and sales persons also could not get accurate and timely information about customers capital risks, warehouse statistics and sales distribution situation. The liquidation of sales invoice and customer credit could not be analyzed and reported, which needed new IT system and application development. Finally,the data exchange mechanism, security control of database of the old system were out of date and potentially posed threats to business data and financial data safety. The database were redesigned based on theory guidelines and business requirements including tables,stored procedures, dataflow and interfaces.The key contribution of this thesis are listed as following:1) Based on the analysis of business process and business process reconstruction, the network, hardware and software environment were designed and the business process diagram and data flow diagram were also demonstrated;2) The study and application of software engineering, supply chain theory and delivery & distribution models;3) Modulized the functions of the system and formalized each modules'assigned tasks. In order to build an core IT infrastracture to support enterprise business processes, it was vital to utilize modern information techonogy and put management theory into practice and facilitate the business process reconstruction with higher management innovations and efficiency as the cornerstone.
