The competition in 21 century will transform from competition among companies to that among supply chains. Under the long-term protection of monopolistic system, Chinese tobacco industry has such problems as complicated business process and the lack of effective core competitiveness, etc. As the protection period of WTO was terminated and Framework Convention on Tobacco Control became effective, the development of Chinese tobacco industry is facing a lot of pressure and challenges.Business Process Reengineering (BPR) is an effective measure to enhance the core competitiveness of companies, as BPR facing supply chain is able to shorten the processing time of the supply chain, lower the overall operation cost, and enhance the total competitiveness. However, huge risks will accompany the tremendous benefits and market competitiveness BPR has brought about. The implementation of BPR can be successful only if it is guided by systematic and scientific methodology. Business process modeling and simulation technology will become the key technology, raising the success rate of the project execution. The aim of the thesis is to explore a convenient and effective modeling method to support BPR, and design a simulation system of business process, providing an operative measure to research and implement BPR in tobacco industry.The thesis analyzes and compares different kinds of business process modeling theories; considering the demand of BPR project of the tobacco supply chain, the thesis develops Object-oriented Timed Petri Net in three aspects, i.e. level, token and timing. The thesis establishes a top-level model of supply chain in tobacco industry with OOTPN, and draws the outline of the whole process briefly. Based on this, and according to the hot and difficult points of tobacco industry reform, the thesis mainly focuses on the detailed modeling and reengineering of the joint-process between the industrial and commercial corporation, establishes and reengineers the model of traditional joint-process between industrial and commercial corporation and that of combined transportation process with interline pallets between industrial and commercial corporation respectively, as well as put forward the verification and evaluation method of the models. In addition, according to study of modeling theories and combined with the practical demand of BPR in tobacco industry, a business process simulation system based on OOTPN is designed and developed in the thesis. Finally, taking the joint-process between a certain tobacco commercial corporation and a certain industrial corporation for instance, the thesis implements experiments with the model of traditional process between industrial and commercial corporation and that of new process using interline pallets between industrial and commercial corporation, to verify the accuracy of the models. Moreover, based on the stimulation experiments and the study of load rate of the transportation vehicles, it is indicated that the overall cost will slightly decrease and the time will be shortened substantially when adopting the model of new process using interline pallets between industrial and commercial.
