The media literacy is very important to the migrant workers'school-aged migrant children who experience socialization and urbanization at the same period. This research keeps close watch on the media literacy, by focusing on its two phases. The one phase is media accessing and the other phase includes media understanding, media evaluating and media creating. In order to make the research done, the researcher selected Beijing as the research site, where there are numerous migrant workers. The research methods in this paper are questionnaire survey and interviews. In the research, a total of 210 valid questionnaires were collected and 22 school-aged migrant children of migrant workers and their teachers.According to these data of questionnaire survey and interviews, the researcher describes the media literacy level of migrant workers'migrant children in school-age and finds the factors which influence the groups'media literacy level. The research concludes as follows. The first point is that the school-aged migrant children of migrant workers access media frequently. In their media accessing, the traditional media is dominant, but they want to access the new media in curiosity. The second point is that the migrant workers'school-aged migrant children'media accessing is not comprehensive and is mainly for entertainment. In new media accessing, except for entertainment, they seek to communicate with other people. The third point is that the migrant workers'school-aged migrant children are not good at media understanding, media analyzing and media creating. The forth point is the migrant workers'school-aged migrant children'media literacy level are not uniform because of some factor such as grade, gender, grades, families and schools.The research attempts to give some suggestions on improving the groups'media literacy efficiently. This education requires not only the recognition and approval of the government departments, the education departments, the young pioneers working committee and the communist youth league but also needs the cooperation during the research departments, the foundations, the non-governmental organizations, the media, the college student volunteers and the other social resources. At the last, some specific problems and solutions are analyzed preliminarily.
