As the computer and mobile phone become popularity in China, the influence of the networkmedia to the new generation migrant workers becomes strengthen day by day. Compared with thetraditional media, the new generation migrant workers are more like to use the networker media.They come into anaclisis to this kind of media. The networker media has special significance tothe new generation migrant workers. It affected the process of their socialization andurbanization. It could plentiful their spiritual life, release their pressure, and help them have amore correct identity identification, fit in the city life as soon as possible.This research will study the situation of the new generation migrant workers, study themhow to know and using the network media, by the literature research and interview method.Theresearch includes the ways of them using the networker, the characteristics, the intrinsicmotivation, analysis the network media’s positive influence and negative influence to the newgeneration migrant workers. Through the study,I found that the internet has become the newgeneration migrant worker’s favorite entertainment activity during the spare time. Althoughwatching TV is always the most popular way to killing time during the past seven years, theamount of the migrant workers who choosing to surf the internet is increasing year by year, andmost of them are new generation famers. They like to go to the internet café or using their mobilephone to surf the internet, in order for fun and killing time. They often using QQ to have a chatwith others. They like watch the video online, play games. But rarely of them would like to studyonline. The research found that the internet interaction could satisfy their social demand. Becausethe network media could conceal their true names, the new generation migrant workers couldchat with others without scruple. It is good for them to relieve their pressure, eliminate themisunderstanding between them and the urban people.The research found that the society should give more attention to the new generation migrantworkers, the local government, the trade union, the communities and the companies shouldencourage and guide the new generation migrant workers how to use the network media correctly.They could make the young migrant workers know more about the internet and network media,improve their media literacy and try their best to help their dream of urbanization become true assoon as possible.
