The Difficulties And Countermeasures Of Migrant Worker Using Social Media

In 2006,the Report on China's Migrant Workers pointed out that"migrant workers are a special concept that China has emerged in the economic transformation.Specifically,it means that the household registration status is still a farmer and has the right to contract the land,but leaving the hometown to the city to make a living,mainly engaged in non-The agricultural industry and the agricultural households with wage income as the main source.In recent years,the number of migrant workers has increased day by day,occupying half of China's employment market,and has become a group that cannot be ignored in the construction of the motherland.Under the background of building a welloff society in an all-round way,the material life of migrant workers has been greatly satisfied,and the vigorous development of mass media has broadened the channels of information dissemination.Migrant workers hope to understand the information they need through the media.As a kind of mass media,social media plays an increasingly important role in the daily life of migrant workers.Taking the research method combining questionnaires and in-depth interviews,from November 2017 to September 2018,350 migrant workers were selected from the Yuelu District,Tianxin District and Kaifu District of Changsha for social media use survey.Through surveys,a descriptive analysis of the use of migrant workers' media will be conducted to understand the basic situation of the use of social media by migrant workers.On this basis,it analyzes the predicament of migrant workers using social media and thinks about countermeasures.It hopes to help migrant workers integrate into towns.Through investigation and analysis,it is found that the use of social media by migrant workers mainly has the following characteristics:WeChat is preferred in social media choice preferences;moderate use of social media;and single use of social media(social and entertainment).The use of social media by migrant workers has problems such as low awareness of social media,limited media participation,and insufficient media criticism.The main reason is that migrant workers have limited conditions,insufficient supply of social media resources,and inadequate government support measures.Solving the dilemma of migrant workers using social media requires the government to improve relevant supporting measures,transform traditional concepts,update and correct perspectives;disseminate platforms to strengthen social media supply resources,rationally allocate resources,establish more effective access channels,and provide more targeted and more Specialized services;migrant workers actively improve the access environment,enhance relevant social media skills,and improve their media literacy.
