With the urbanization of China, more and more rural migrant workers leave the countryside to the cities. At the end of 2010, there are 242 million rural migrant workers in our country. Migrant workers have exceeded 40% of total rural labor force. Under the system of urban-rural dual structure in our country, rural migrant workers are discriminated against in the city. Currently, rural migrant workers are lack of reasonable communication right and accession to indispensable information due to their low social status. Meanwhile, the ability of rural migrant workers to get and distinguish information is not competent enough. Focused on the media literacy of rural migrant workers, this article would like to give some advice to promote the healthful urbanization by improving the media literacy of rural migrant workers, which will be helpful for the social harmony.Chapterâ… of this paper introduces the topic background and significance; presents a thorough literature review; establishes the research framework; illustrates the data analysis methods and research innovation. Chapterâ…¡analyzes the characteristic of media literacy of rural migrant workers, including the relationship between media literacy and gender, education level or occupation. Chapterâ…¢studies the relationship between media literacy and rural migrant workers political participation. Chapter IV studies the relationship between media literacy and rural migrant workers social inclusion. Chapterâ…¤summarizes the results of this study, put forward feasible policy proposals for Chinese rural migrant workers to become city resident, and points out the future research direction of media literacy of rural migrant workers. In conclusion, we can promote Chinese rural migrant workers social inclusion by improve their media literacy, which is the theme of this paper.
