Study On Network Media Literacy Status Of Migrant Workers And Strategy For Improvement

Network media literacy of migrant workers is the research object in this paper.The study first defines the concept of network media literacy through analyzingtheory research and practice research of network media literacy at home and abroad,discusses the connotation and system structure of network media literacy of migrantworkers.The network media literacy of migrant workers includes network skills,awareness of the network, network utilization ability, network participation ability,network ethics in five aspects. Then the study conducts a questionnairesurvey on the network media literacy status of migrant workers, supplementedby interviews, selecting the migrant workers in the city of Guangzhou as a sample.The findings show that the network media literacy level of individual difference isvery apparent and the network media literacy level of migrant workers overall is stillin a low level. Incorporate is in the following respects: First, the digital divide"access" disorder is significant; Second, awareness of the network is weak; Third, thepursuit of" amusing ourselves to death" is very prominent, the negative effect of thenetwork media using is obvious; Forth, network participation ability is insufficient.Combined with the investigation, the reasons for the low level network media literacyof migrant workers mainly lies in the three aspects: First, economic income level islow; Second, cultural level is low; Third, the individual subjective initiative is lack.According to the above research results, combined with the characteristics ofmigrant workers and the specific situation of China, this study gives thecountermeasure to provide network media literacy of migrant workers. Governmentintervention is the dominant force and active community participation is auxiliarypower. Combined with the" education view" and" quality view", the government andthe community provide the migrant workers with internet practice opportunity, at thesame time, give them the education and guidance, mutual cooperation to jointlypromote the network literacy level of the migrant workers.
