Along with the increasing progress of science and technology, some large-scale equipment, precise instrument has been widely used in industry, petroleum, chemical industry, and other fields.Safety and quality of these equipment not only relates to operation of the production process in the whole enterprise, but also plays an irreplaceable role to the entire national economy development. Therefore, it's quite important to prevent these devices from serious shock in the process of transportation so as to avoid installation and use of the devices are influenced. And this needs to position transportation of devices,to real-timely position devices and to record major parameters, such as vibration and climatic parameters,and so on.Transportation monitoring system of important and dangerous equipment based on GSM,which adopted advanced technology, such as GPS(global positioning system),GSM(global system for mobile communications) and digital sensor, is designed for monitoring transporting process of significant and precise instrument and ensure securety of transportation.This system consists of the monitoring terminal installed on the device, GSM wireless communication network,monitoring computer in the control room or site supervisor's handheld monitor terminal. MCU in the monitoring terminal can regularly gather signals from GPS positioning module including time, longitude and latitude,and parameters measured by sensors including temperature,relative humidity,atmosphere pressure and three axises vibration accelerations, and then store all data gathered into flash memory.The site supervisor can check current vibration accelerations, climatic parameters, time, longitude and latitude through displayer and set alert threshold of parameters in a certain range. When detecting that the vibration accelerations or climatic parameters exceed thresholds, MCU will start alarm circuit and control GSM module sending alarm signal as a SMS to monitoring computer and site handheld monitor terminal. In addition/the GSM module controlled by MCU sends longitude and latitude signals to monitoring computer, so that the monitoring computer can real-timely track position of the device by match geographical position of the device and electronic map. What's more, monitoring computer processing and analyzing all data stored into flash can provide factual proof for future inquiry. The monitoring computer can send orders to the site supervisor and come true remotely controlling the device by wireless communication network.This paper expounded the principle knowledge needed for designing monitor system, such as GSM system,including SMS and AT command and GPS technology including GPS positioning principle, NMEA agreement. This paper designed hardware plan of the system, including MCU, data-acquisitioning module (including temperature and humidity sensor, atmosphere pressure sensor, vibration sensor and GPS module), GSM module, displaying module, keyboard module, alarming module, flash memory and power module. This paper also illustrated the function of each module and chose chips achieving the function of each module. Following the function of each pin, performance parameters of chosen chips, this paper designed hardware diagram of system, and detailed the input and output signals of chips.This paper designed software plan of the system, which included scheduling task, data acquisition task, GSM communication task, the keyboard and displaying task, alarming task and USB flash disk (that is the flash memory) reading and writing task, illustrated function of each task and compiled program flowcharts.This system is mainly used for important and dangerous equipment, precision instrument, and pressure-bearing devices,and for monitoring and managing various important materials in logistics transportation. This system,which provides effective means for monitoring transportation,ensuring transportation safety and investigating accidents, has quite important practical significance. Through the initial testing, the system achieved the expected effect.
