There are various types of automated systems in the large-scale industrial and mining enterprises, and the source of gas (namely compressed air source) is an important resource, which maintains normal operation of the factory, so it is essential to effectively control the air compressors and put them into the enterprise informational construction. With the great development, Ethernet technology has been applied into the field of industrial controlling to get lower costs and simplified structures, etc. In addition, the embedded system has become the new focus for the advantage of the small-scale size, many functions and the support for Ethernet technology.Not only is working efficiency relatively low, but also it is hard for timely and historical data gets into the enterprise's information management system by the way of manual operation on the control panel in the traditional compressor controlling system. This monitor-control system targets on the air compressors of Ingersoll-Rand Company with the function of data automatic collection, transformation, process and storing. According to practical demand, data and other relevant information can be sent to client computers through the network for clients' reference as controlling and managing. Moreover the data exchange and sharing with other systems in many ways are very convenient.According to the demands of different enterprises and on-the-spot conditions, two sets of solutions and respective software of remote controlling systems have been fulfilled. Scheme one: MCGS configuration software of Kunlun Company serves as the tool to write client programs and the virtual-COM-port technology of the Ethernetembedded controller 7188E of Hongge Company which turns network ports to be virtual COM ports on the client PC is used to enable local controlling software to remote control air compressors without much modifications. Scheme two: the server software was written with the Xserver network technology of 7188E and client software with Winsock to communicate with 7188E. In this way, remote monitoring and controlling of air compressors can be achieved. Hereunder in the dissertation, has carried on the discussion to the pluses and minuses of these two schemes and suitable conditions respectively.
