The air compressor is one kind of equipments that can transform mechanical energy intogaseous energy for increasing the air pressure or transporting the gaseous energy. With thecharacteristic of simple structure and high efficiency, screw air compressor is widely used inindustry. But the problems such as lag control mode, low automatic level and the maintenanceare more and more obvious. The development of computer monitoring technique andcomputer network technique provides advantages for changing control mode of air compressorand improving automatic level. So an intelligent monitoring system of air compressor isstudied and designed in this paper.Based on the project of air-compressor auto-monitoring system of Xinglongzhuang coalmine of Yankuang group, the theory and method about how to design the system of intelligentmonitoring of air compressor are discussed in detail. The system automatic level is improvedby replacing the old control mode that mainly bases on the manual operation.After analyzing several methods of monitoring air compressor, the paper gives thegeneral design plan, hardware and software configuration and software design. Based onrequirement of field, S7-300 PLC provided by SIEMENS Company is chosen. Throughindustrial Ethemet (TCP/IP) and MODBUS, two networks control structure is designed.Depending on industrial Ethemet (TCP/IP), the computer can communicate with PLC torealize network-monitoring system in office. The PLC can communicate with Delcos3100controller by MODBUS, at the same time, touch screen can communicate with PLC by MPIbus. After that centralized-monitoring system has been realized in control room. In this way,the operator can know the whole system state and modify the system parameters in time. In thesystem, STEP7 V5.3 software is used for programming. And the structured program mode isadopt, which is convenient to amend and debug. Finally according to final pressure, aircompressor can automatically control.The results show that the system can be controlled by itself depending on final pressureand air compressor can work well. It is proved that the monitoring system has advantages ofsimple operation, user-friendly interface, good reliability and high resistance against disturbance. The data can be transmitted from PLC through the industrial Ethemet with highreliably and efficiency. In a word, this system has high practicability and social generalizationvalue.
